Partitur einer Fliege / A Fly's Compostition - 2004

series of 10 photographs, aluminium
18 x 24 cm / 7 x 9 1/2 in

'A Fly's Composition' shows a fly running over a fogged window, leaving its traces behind. It is a work created by three authors, the fly, who 'dances', the fogged window, which records the fly's movements, and Greenfort who takes the photograph.
The work also references the theoretical biologist Jakob von Uexküll. Uexküll defined environment as a 'reality of the subjective appearance'. Each reality is a summation of sign and meanings produced by individuals, human or animal.
