3-Dimensional Mirror Labyrinth - 2005

polished stainless steel, Alu-cobond
220 cm Ø 810 cm / 86 1/2 in Ø 319 in

Permanent Installation, Anyang, Korea.

3-Dimensional Labyrinth is a maze structure made of mirrored steles, which reflect their surroundings, the visitors, as well as each other. Their completely mirrored surface lets the elements melt with their surroundings to become almost invisible. The steles form a structure of three concentric circles with entrances and exits that are shifted by 180° in relation to each other. The distance between the steles, allowing a look through the whole sculpture, lend a particular sense of openness to the whole structure. As the visitor enters and passes through the sculpture, the installation thereby challenges the physical and mental attention of the viewer and engages them in an active, playful interaction with the work.
