La Salsa - 1998 video installation 9 min 30 Installation view: Art Cologne, 2004. Two dancing legs shift between focusing on the grammar of the Salsa dance steps, which have been drawn on the floor, and free improvisation. Also, in the physical exhibition space, one can find the same step sequence so that the visitor is invited to take part, at least in his imagination. The formal division of the body makes it abstract, and the legs become the only protagonists of the performance. Questions concerning the source of identity are raised, as the head seems to have lost its predominance over the legs.
